Before I proceed to why this piece is imminent, I would want to wish all sons and daughters of the Ijaw nation, a happy new month, and urge everyone to stay safe in our fight against the corona novel.

As a father, I am worried about the kind of legacy, I’ll implant in the Ijaw nation. A legacy where my beautiful daughter will be proud of. An Ijaw nation where everyone can be something regardless of its gender and status because of the strides I’ll make, which I’ll earnestly pursue, at the Ijaw Youth Council, in revamping our developmental debacle.

An Ijaw nation united in solidarity for peace and courage for development. An Ijaw nation responsible for a constructive and intelligent argument. This may sound naive, but this is my philosophy. Those who know me can attest to this fact that I am passionately loyal to a decent and beautiful legacy of development for the Ijaw nation.

Hence, I can’t condescend so low to promote hate speech or be a beneficiary of such a process. Therefore, I condemn in the strongest of terms those perpetuating these hate crimes to malign our respected icon and living legend, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo aka GOC Tompolo, my big brother Chief (Engr) Keston Pondi, as well as my brother and friend Barr. Eric Omare.

I am in the race to make a difference and cement a legacy for the Ijaw people. I am not desperate, and I’ll never be in the race to slander anyone despite our ideological differences.

When my campaign began, I said it clearly that, my vision is to serve the Ijaw people prudently and fight to protect our economic and political annexation.

In other words, what this means, is that I’ll never support a scenario people cast aspersion to any Ijaw son or daughter. Not to talk of casting aspersion to eminent personalities that have contributed to the Ijaw struggle and our developmental aspirations.

If I could, therefore, summarize once again the vision I envision when I entered the race for the secretaryship, is to ‘fighting for unity in one voice.’ I want to once again, advise everyone to be cautious as we collectively and vigorously pursue to advance our developmental aspirations.
